Test Preparation Overview

Test preparation materials are available for undergraduate- and graduate-level standardized admissions and aptitude tests. We have a limited print collection, with the newest items located on a low shelf near the back of the first floor of Cabell Library. These test preparation books may be checked out for 3 days, no renewals.

The majority of our test preparation materials are available online, as outlined below.

Testing & Education Reference Center (TERC)

Testing & Education Reference Center (TERC) offers a variety of practice and aptitude tests for undergraduate- and graduate-level standardized tests. It also covers information on colleges, technical schools, financial aid, and scholarships. Test preparation coverage includes at least one practice test, a preparation book, and articles with test prepration tips.

Graduate-level tests available under the "Graduate School Tools" tab include:

  • Business school: GMA
  • Law school: LSAT
  • General graduate school admissions: MAT, GRE
  • Medical and nursing school: MCAT, TEAS

 

Tests for International Students

Testing & Education Reference Center (TERC) also offers tools for International students, including:

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language: TOEFL
  • Test of English for International Communication: TOEIC
  • U.S. Citizenship Test Prep

 

Students needing to take undergraduate-level admissions tests have preparation tool options available via the TERC including:

  • Scholastic Aptitude Test: SAT
  • SAT Subject Tests 
  • American College Testing: ACT
  • College-Level Examination Program: CLEP
