VCU Health - Affiliated Facilities

Guide for nurses working at VCU Health Affiliated Facilities

Useful Resources

Due to license agreements, most VCU Health employees that work in facilities that are not a part of the VCU Medical Center (MCV Campus) do not have remote access to VCU Libraries resources.  All users can search the VCU Libraries collection and PubMed as well as Google Scholar and request free full-text articles using Interlibrary Loan services.

Requesting Items Through ILL

When requesting articles, please be sure to use your  VCU Health Email Address when asked for an email during the registration process.  This ensures you are recognized as a member of the VCU community and will not be charged for your article request.

Interlibrary Loan services available include the following:

Copies (articles, chapters, excerpts from works)

  • Request copies from the VCU Libraries collections. Included are items located in storage, non-circulating collections, microforms, general stacks, electronic resources, etc.

  • Request copies of items not available in the VCU Libraries collections.

  • Copies are delivered electronically.

  • Free of charge.

Loans (books, CDs, DVD, dissertations, microform and entire works) located in storage and circulating VCU Libraries collections

  • delivery of items to your off-campus address

In order to utilize this service, you will need to sign up for an ILLiad account. In order to sign up for an account, please follow the instructions found in our Request Materials Research Guide to assist you with this process (http://guides.library.vcu.edu/request/account).  Once you have an account you will be able to log into the ILLiad link for other authorized users to request materials.
