InterLibrary Loan

VCU Libraries collects materials useful to its researchers, but no library can purchase everything.  Fortunately, VCU Libraries participates in programs that allow us to borrow materials from other libraries, at no cost to you.  If you need an article or book that is not part of VCU Libraries' collection, or if a book that you need is checked out, you can request it for free through our InterLibrary Loan service.

Personalized Information Services

If you have not found what you are looking for in 10 minutes ... it's time to call a librarian at Tompkins-McCaw Library.

Your librarian can provide many information-based services for free, including:

  • Expert literature searches
  • Evidence-based practice searches
  • Citation management assistance
  • And more

We can also come to your office, lab or faculty meeting, or class to give presentations on:

  • PubMed, Web of Science, or any other VCU Libraries resource
  • Setting up an account for RefWorks, personal or group
  • Health sciences literature reviews
  • Finding images or protocols
