Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) is communicable disease caused by a coronavirus. It was first reported in Jordan in April 2012 and later in Saudi Arabia in September 2012 according to CDC. So far the only cases confirmed have been in countries in and near the Arabian Peninsula.
