If you got to this guide, you are probably looking for images that you can reuse for some purpose. VCU has many databases that are useful for locating images, but depending on how you plan to reuse the image, you may need to seek out permission from the copyright holder or use an image that does not require permission to reuse.

Servier Medical Art
Servier Medical Art is a library featuring carefully curated medical visuals (illustrations), perfect for creating compelling educational aids and enriching your research work. All the resources are freely available for use under Creative Commons license CC-BY-4.0.
MedPix Database
A National Library of Medicine database, MedPix® is "a free online Medical Image Database with over 53,000 indexed and curated images, from over 13,000 patients."
HEAL: Health Education Assets Library
HEAL is a digital collection of educational materials for the health sciences. "The Health Education Assets Library (HEAL) is a digital library that provides freely accessible digital teaching resources of the highest quality that meet the needs of today's health sciences educators and learners."
CDC: Public Health Image Library
Public Health Image Library (PHIL) is an extensive collection of still images, image sets, and multimedia files related to public health. Most images are in public domain and free of restrictions; however, some are copyright protected.
Catalog of Clinical Images
This Clinical Image section of this site is a visual educational resource dedicated to providing pictures that are representative of common and uncommon physical exam findings. Maintained by the University of California San Diego School of Medicine. Images do not contain Creative Commons Licenses.
