Welcome VCU Libraries Faculty!

This guide is focused on the research process and on broader aspects of faculty development for library faculty.

Charge of the Committee

VCU Libraries Faculty Development Committee Charge

With VCU Librarians transition to Teaching and Research (T&R) faculty, the faculty development committee is focusing on enhancing and supporting existing faculty development opportunities. With this in mind, the VCU Libraries Faculty Development Committee seeks to:

  • Identify and share relevant resources for faculty development in libraries and beyond;

  • Coordinate and host faculty development events, utilizing a variety of methods and delivery mechanisms;

The VCU Libraries Faculty Development survey responses (2017) identified several areas of faculty interest:

  1. IRB - and all things involving it including the CITI training and tests, etc.

  2. Research - how to get started, how to find time, how to do it (the process)

  3. Funding - how to find it and go after it
