PubMed Alternatives

Ali Baba helps you to search and visualize protein- and disease-centered information from PubMed. Displays the search result in form of a graph -- biological/medical objects such as proteins, diseases, or drugs are nodes; meaningful associations between them are edges. This is a Java program that is easily downloaded.

Chilibot searches PubMed literature database (abstracts) about specific relationships between proteins, genes, or keywords. The results are returned as a graph.

HubMed does basic PubMed searching but adds a couple of interesting features. The "Terms" option links phrases and words in an abstract to Gene Ontology, UniProt or Wikipedia for further searching. And the Rank Relations feature finds more articles similar to a set of articles you already have found.

Literature and Genomics Resource Catalogue allows you to search PubMed and then narrow your search using terms from a MeSH Cloud based on the articles found.

PubNet creates network graphs based on user-specified nodes for one or two PubMed queries. These graphs visualize the degree and variety of relationships between authors or subjects.
