Resources at VCU

  • Creative Technologies and Scholarship (The Workshop), VCU Libraries
    The Workshop, in the James Branch Cabell Library, provides to the VCU Community, self-service, cross-platform video editing stations with a wide variety of capture and export options. Stations are self-service, advanced appointments encouraged for consultation.   • Health Sciences Library Makerspace
    MCR, in the Health Sciences Library, provides to the VCU Community, a self-service cross-platform facility for collaborative study, multimedia computing, and making presentation materials.
  • LinkedIn Learning 
    The VCU community has free access to this online learning platform with courses and videos to help develop skills in technology, and creativity. You can go with a broad approach (Transcoding) or hone in on specific applications (Adobe Media Encoder).
  • Adobe Creative Cloud 
    All currently-enrolled VCU students have access to Adobe's Creative Cloud Suite. VCU employees may get access through their department.
  • Barnes and Noble Bookstore
    Barnes and Noble at VCU is a resource for books on transcoding media, as well as offering academic discounts on hardware and software to faculty, staff and students.
