What nonfiction books and essays, literature, videos, films, podcasts, music, and visual art have other faculty found useful in making their pedagogy celebrate difference in the classroom? This LibGuide contains resources to augment your syllabus with what faculty members of University College’s Council for Diverse, Equitable, and Inclusive Change (CDEIC) have taught successfully across the disciplines.

Check back often as these resources will evolve! This resource recognizes the many identities who have contributed to our culture both historically and presently. This first iteration, to align with VCU's new GenEd requirement on Racial Literacy, will focus primarily on cultural interventions of race.
Each digitally accessible resource in this guide explores “difference” in unique, multimedia forms and genres. These resources are made available to the VCU community (students, staff, faculty, and other groups) by VCU Libraries. Some of these titles may also be available from your public library.
