Searching News Sources in Dow Jones Factiva

Dow Jones Factiva

To search the archives of many national newspapers, open Dow Jones Factiva through the link above. In November 2024, this interface was updated to focus on business news, however, the original news-based interface is still available. To access that original version, click on the "Switch Factiva" button on the top right, next to the search box.

From this page, you can begin your search by clicking on 'Search' in the top menu bar, and choosing 'Search Builder.' From this page, you can use the sources field to limit results to a specific newspaper, such as New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, etc. Several newspapers offer additional web-only content through our subscriptions, so to include online content as well as print, choose the option (if available) that includes all their sources, like in this example:

Add your search terms, choose a date range, and read your results.

How to access current headline news articles from a variety of papers

You can also access full text up-to-the-minute news and business, including access to the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, LA Times, Chicago Tribune, USA Today, Barron's, Forbes, and more.

Click the above link and click "Home" in the navigational bar at the top of the screen. This will open a listing of a variety of national newspapers in the United States, where you can read full-text articles. Most papers offer access to one to two weeks' worth of archived articles through this headline news view.
