Welcome to VCU Libraries!

VCU Libraries has provided this guide to support you as you begin your transition to academic life. These pages provide links to orient you towards finding books and other sources, accessing military services, and introducing the research process that will help you succeed in your assignments. Military Student Services

VCU's Military Student Services page provides resources and advocacy for our student veterans. Resources range from scholarship opportunities, enrollment help, tutoring and career services, to disability support and wellness counseling.  

Public Libraries

Library of Virginia offers borrowing privileges to any resident of Virginia. Photo identification, proof of residence, and current address are required. Online and mail registrations are available.

Public libraries offer borrowing privileges to anyone living in their region. Some of the resources available through your local public library may include:

  • Thousands of books available for checkout
  • Ebooks that can be downloaded to your ereader or tablet
  • Access to popular magazines via your ereader or tablet
  • DVDs and music
  • Research databases
  • Comfortable facilities to read or study
  • Community events and programming
