Services for UNIV Classes

Information about the services the library provides for UNIV classes.

Helping You Plan for Library Instruction

Librarians at Cabell offer a variety of services for UNIV 111, 112, and 200 based on the UNIV curriculum. In this guide you will find brief descriptions of what we can offer you and your classes. Please don’t hesitate to contact us at library@vcu.edu if you have questions, concerns, or suggestions.

We value hands-on, active learning experiences that are relevant to class assignments. We strive not only to teach basic library skills, but information fluency skills that are transferable to classes outside of University College and beyond graduation. Each librarian-led session is developed in close consultation with the teaching professor.

In fall 2016, Student Success librarians implemented the "Designated Librarian Program" in which faculty and adjuncts who teach UNIV classes will be paired with a librarian who will be their main point of contact throughout the semester.
