Diversity at Virginia Commonwealth University

"Virginia Commonwealth University does not discriminate in admissions, treatment, employment or access to its programs or activities on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin (including ethnicity), age, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth and related medical conditions), parenting status, marital status, political affiliation, military status, genetic information (including family medical history), sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or disability, as required by Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, as amended; Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973; Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008; the Virginia Human Rights Act; the Governor’s Executive Order Number One (2018); and other state or federal laws and university policies. VCU prohibits sexual and sex-/gender-based misconduct, discrimination, harassment and interpersonal violence, including sexual assault. VCU Inclusive Excellence is responsible for actualizing diversity initiatives that foster a welcoming community and support all individuals regardless of race, color, national origin, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation, political affiliation, military status and disability.

Military Student Services at Virginia Commonwealth University works with veterans, active service members, spouses and dependents to ease the transition from military life to academics.
Safe Zone, University Counseling Services
Safe Zone is a 2-hour training workshop offered to faculty, staff, and students of the VCU Community

VCU Division for Health Sciences Diversity
The VCU Division for Health Sciences Diversity oversees the VCU Health Sciences Pipeline, which is comprised of our faculty and staff, program partners and most importantly our students, the Pipeline alumni. Together we are breaking health science education barriers, fostering student success and diversifying the health care workforce.
Virginia Center on Aging
The Virginia Center on Aging (VCoA) is a statewide agency created by the Virginia General Assembly, with our home at Virginia Commonwealth University in the College of Health Professions. Since 1978, VCoA has worked to protect and improve the quality of life of older Virginians, so that they might remain interdependent and contributing members to life in Virginia. Partnerships with others have made our initiatives possible.
