SLWK 610: Human Behavior in the Social Environment II

Search Suggestions

Depending on your topic, it can be tricky to find your chosen culture, nationality, ethnicity, social class, or diverse family form.  Keep the following in mind:

  • Use as many variations of your population as possible.  For example, if you were researching Native Alaskans, you might try the following:
    • "native alaskan" OR "alaska native"
    • If you aren't finding information, you could expand you search by adding "native american" OR "american indian"
    • If you're still having trouble, reach out to Kelsey Cheshire for more help!
  • Some information, such as rituals, rites of passage, customs and beliefs, is unlikely to be found in scholarly journal articles.  Instead you'll need to supplement those required sources with things like websites, books, etc.
