VCU Libraries support for transformative learning experiences
This guide highlights VCU Libraries resources for students engaged in transformative learning experiences and for faculty providing and supporting these student experiences.
VCU librarians can accommodate your library instruction needs in a variety of modalities, through synchronous or asynchronous formats. Your librarian will work with you to determine learning outcomes, technology options, and preferred date(s).
Showcase your students' work
If your course or experiential learning opportunity requires students to produce an artifact of learning (like an e-portfolio, multimedia project, or other type of capstone project), VCU Libraries has resources that can help.
Scholars Compass is a publishing platform for the intellectual output of the VCU community, including faculty, staff, and students. Presentations at professional conferences and publications in scholarly venues from graduate and professional students are encouraged. Other content produced or submitted by VCU students must be sponsored by VCU faculty, researchers, or staff.
The Workshop provides hardware, software, spaces and expertise to help the VCU community produce creative work of all kinds. Students can advance their creative skills through workshop-style sessions, equipment demonstrations, one-on-one assistance, and online resources, as well as a knowledgeable staff on hand to assist.
All members of the VCU community must attend orientations prior to reserving makerspace equipment or audio/video studios. Faculty can request class tours and orientations to Workshop spaces and equipment.
The Health Sciences Library provides access to specialized technology and software for the VCU community, including a makerspace, audio studio, and collaboration room for viewing and editing multimedia.
