Streaming Media at VCU Libraries

About Kaltura

Kaltura is a cloud-based video management system that facilitates the conversion and distribution of audio and video formats online. Kaltura is used across VCU schools and faculty members to host lectures, training materials, and other content. VCU Libraries uses Kaltura to host two types of relevant streaming media: films for which we have purchased temporary or perpetual digital site licenses, along with films we have digitized for preservation purposes.

Accessing Kaltura

Kaltura can be accessed at https://vcu.mediaspace.kaltura.com/.

VCU Libraries film content is restricted to VCU students, faculty, and staff with an active VCU eID and password. In order to access VCU Libraries content, first login to Kaltura by clicking the "Login" icon in the upper right hand corner.

After logging in, hover your mouse over the "Academics" link on the horizontal menu bar, and select "VCU Libraries" from the dropdown menu.

Under the "Academics/VCU Libraries" heading, select the tab that says "11 channels."

Scroll down and select the icon that says "VCU-Only Videos."

This will take you to VCU Libraries' selection of films hosted on Kaltura. Films can be sorted by date or title, or searched in the search box.
