OLD How Do I Request Resources?

A step by step guide on how to request copies, chapters, books, media, and other materials housed in the VCU Libraries collections or from another library.

VCU students, staff and faculty participants receive the same services described in the VCU Faculty, Staff and Health System Employees and the VCU Students and Employees sections.  

Students, staff and faculty participants from other universities are encouraged to contact their university library for Interlibrary Loan services.  VCU Libraries will provide the following services to those participants from other universities:

Fill requests for Copies (articles, chapters, excerpts for printed work)

  • Request copies from the VCU Libraries collections. Included are copy requests for items located in storage, non-circulating collections, microform, general stacks, electronic resources, etc.
  • Requests copies of items not available in the VCU Libraries collections. 

Copy requests are digitized and delivered electronically.

Fill requests for Loans (books, CDs, DVDs, dissertations, microforms and entire works).

  • Items are held for pick-up at one of the libraries or may be shipped to address is resides outside Metro Richmond.
