Welcome to the Drug Information Resources Guide.  Use this page as a jumping-off point to locate journal articles, eBooks, and useful online resources for both practitioners and patients.  The tabs on the left will guide you to the various types of resources available.

If you are not finding the information you need, do not hesitate to contact the VCU Health Sciences Library. Librarians are available to you and can:

  • Provide research consultations and assist with literature searches,
  • Assist with comprehensive literature searches for systematic reviews,
  • Assist with reference management software, especially Mendeley,
  • And so much more!

Drug Facts & Comparisons - Lists both prescription and OTC drugs by therapeutic categories with concise information concerning pharmacology, dispensing information, ingredients.

Natural Medicines - Evidence-based, peer-reviewed information on complementary and alternative medicine treatments. Includes evaluation of therapies for specific conditions, herbs and supplements, and diet therapies.

UpToDate - Provides reviewed clinical reference material including drug information, dosing, and brief summaries of conditions and management options. Available off campus with personal account registered while on campus.
