Cabell Library: Overview

Building Hours
Cabell Library has extensive hours during the fall and spring semesters with staff and librarians available to assist you.
Lactation Room
Fourth floor (ask at first floor Information Desk)
Restrooms
There are restrooms, and accessible options, on every level of Cabell Library. Gender inclusive single user restrooms are also available for anyone to use on the first floor, lower level and on the third floor.

Lower Level (LL):

The Workshop
Hardware, software, spaces, and expertise to help the VCU community produce creative work of all kinds
IT Support Center
General computer issues or checkout a laptop - located near the main elevators, in the basement, underneath Starbucks

First Floor:

Information Desk
Ask questions, check out books, pick up reserves. Located to the right of the entrance
Desktop computers
Desktop computers are available on all five floors of the library
Group Study Rooms
Reserve study rooms online
Student Success Collection
Study skills, time management, career skills, and other resources
Printing, copying, and scanning
Learn about printing, copying, and scanning. OnePrint Stations, which perform all three functions, are available on all floors.
General Collection books A-HE, magazines, and more

Second Floor:

Group study rooms
Reserve online, group study rooms available on floors one through four
Group and collaborative study areas
In addition to the general study areas, special events are often held in the Multipurpose Room, #250

Third Floor:

Quiet floor - whisper only space
In addition to quiet study areas and the Reading Porch, special events and lectures are often held in the Lecture Hall, #303
General Collection books HF-N, Music Scores & Juvenile Literature

Silent study floor and spaces - No talking at all. No cell phone conversations
