You can have new research delivered to you, rather than checking databases over and over. You can arrange for this information to come to your e-mail or RSS reader.
Many databases allow you to save your search as an alert. New results from your search will be sent by e-mail, or sometimes RSS. To get these alerts, you'll need to create an account within the database, usually by clicking a link in the browser upper right corner.
Google Scholar can email you whenever a new article is published. Enter your search terms into Google Scholar; click 'Create Alert" on the results screen.
