O'Reilly does not have a feature on their platform for chapter or entire ebook downloads and printing. For some titles, you can try printing pages to PDF directly from the web browser by following the instructions below. Note that not all O'Reilly ebooks will allow you to change the settings before printing (e.g., 1,000 Garment Graphics), and that ebooks with a lot of graphics may not print to PDF very well.

1. Click on the Settings gear on the right-hand side of an O'Reilly chapter:
   • If this option is unavailable, skip to Step #3, but note that the Print-to-PDF option may not work well for this title.
2. Change your Reader Width to Large. Adjust other settings as needed (e.g., changing to the smallest font size).
3. Make sure the Table of Contents on the right-hand side is closed (i.e., not displaying).
4. Print from your browser. (In Firefox, go to File --> Print, and Save to PDF.)

Sometimes, changing the print settings to Simplified format in Firefox can help (if that setting is available for a title), but that will remove images. Adjusting the print scale can also help.

The best ebook link to provide library users is the Primo (library website) permalink, since direct links to the O'Reilly ebook site may not connect them with VCU Libraries' subscription access, even if the link contains VCU's proxy. Additionally, finding a permalink that includes "alma" (rather than "cdi") in the last part of the URL is your best bet, since those records are more likely to be stable.

A direct link to the ebook is currently not recommended for the O'Reilly platform.
