Licensing Overview

  • User Licenses: Unlimited.
  • Permanent Access: Varies.
    • Perpetually owned titles:
      • Ebooks in the "Wiley Online Books (VCU perpetual titles)" collection are perpetually owned.
      • Ebooks in the "Wiley Online Books (VIVA package)" collection are perpetually owned if they are listed in the "Wiley UBCM Selected Titles" list on VIVA's Title List webpage. (Note: To view the data in a spreadsheet, you can try copying the data that appears into a text file and saving it as a .TSV file.) This list has titles added to it regularly.
    • Subscription-only titles:
      • Ebooks in the "Wiley Online Books (VIVA package)" collection are subscription-only if they are not listed in the "Wiley UBCM Selected Titles" file (see above).
  • DRM-free? Yes.

Downloading Ebooks and Ebook Chapters

Entire Ebook Download: Yes. Click on "Download Full Book" at the top of the Table of Contents to download a book in PDF format.

Chapter Downloads: Yes. There are a couple ways you can download a full chapter in PDF format.

If you are viewing the Table of Contents, you can click on the "PDF" link under each chapter title to download a chapter. 

If you are on the Summary page of a chapter, click on the "PDF" button above the Summary.

Linking to Ebooks

The best ebook link to provide library users is the Primo (library website) permalink. Finding a permalink that includes "alma" (rather than "cdi") in the last part of the URL is your best bet, since those records are more likely to be stable.

If you require a direct link to the ebook, however, you can follow either of the instructions below to provide library users with links that should work on and off campus. Please be aware that if the publisher changes their ebook URLs that the links you generate below may stop working.
