Ebook FAQ for VCU Libraries

General Troubleshooting Tips

If you're having trouble accessing an ebook or are seeing a paywall for a title that you know belongs to VCU Libraries' ebook collections, try some of these troubleshooting tips:

  • Verify that you are logged in to VCU CAS. The page may not be recognizing your VCU credentials. 
  • Confirm that you can access other VCU resources such as email or Blackboard.
  • Try a different web browser like Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Internet Explorer. If you're able to access this resource on some browsers but not others, the browser's configuration may be causing the problem. 
  • If you can't try a different browser, try opening an incognito window, or clearing your cache. This may reset previous settings that interfere with access. 
  • How did you get to this resource? If it is through a bookmark or a URL someone sent you, try accessing the ebook by entering the title in the VCU Libraries Search box
  • Are you able to access other titles and resources? There could be a publisher system outage or a dead link in our databases. Please report this right away so that we can investigate a solution.
