Biomedical and Basic Sciences Research

Curated resources for students, faculty, and staff engaged in basic sciences and biomedical sciences education and research

Basic Science at VCU

VCU School of Medicine houses the majority of basic science research.  On this site, you can learn about the dozens of masters and doctoral programs in the basic sciences at VCU.

The Office of Research and Innovation works to create an environment that enables investigators to: 1. effectively compete for research funding, 2. responsibly conduct research in compliance with mandated policies, and 3. broadly disseminate knowledge gained by discoveries made. This is also the home for all administrative resources for those seeking funding.

The Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research provides longitudinal and cross-disciplinary networking opportunities, fosters a collaborative culture, and provides the infrastructure necessary to identify promising discoveries made in the laboratory and connect them with clinicians and clinical research opportunities. From bench to bedside, the CCTR provides resources to train researchers and assist basic scientists and clinicians.
